This solo show at Daylight Artist Collective by former resident artist Erin Wallace in encaustic mixed media represents a modern approach to an ancient art form that combines molten beeswax, damar resin, and pigments with various materials, often with a dash of precious metal leaf. This technique, rooted in history, uses heat to fuse layers, creating a luminous, translucent depth that can be polished to a high sheen or left with intense, textured details.

This workshop will teach how to paint with encaustic wax medium and add embellishments like carving, papers, photo transfer, oil sticks, and transparent pigmented wax. All supplies are included. No prior experience required, but helpful.
